1920/30s Windsor Whirle Little Gem 5 String Banjo

1920/1930s Windsor Whirle Junior Gem five string banjo. Currently set up as an open back. This banjo has had a new vellum fitted, new Clifford Essex bridge installed and La Bella 17 nylon strings. I have the resonator back but not the flange brackets hence conversion to open back. Comes with original hard case.

Nice low action, plays and sounds great. Notice the use of old farthings as spacers under the tone ring. This is how it came to me and I kind of like the simplicity of the adjustment. The coins date from the 40 & 50s so I suspect that's the last time its been touched before coming to me.

Condition is as per photos, varnish is worn away in places, the odd dent or scuff where you would expect to find them but otherwise a good solid banjo looking for someone to love it.
