This is a Victorian hand coloured steel engraving titled “Interior of a Highlander’s Cottage”, after a painting by Sir Edwin Henry Landseer, engraved by William Finden.

Measures 15” x 16” in frame. Note there is some foxing to the white border around the print.

The original painter, Sir Edwin Henry Landseer (1802–1873), was renowned for animal subjects and Scottish Highland scenes; this composition is often titled “Highland Interior” in museum catalogues.

The print is a reproductive engraving by William Finden (1787–1852), a leading 19th‑century British line engraver; institutional records list “Interior of a Highlander’s Cottage” as his engraving after Landseer.
